Overview
The golden son of House Bellona, Cassius is considered one of the finest warriors of his generation. His friendship with Darrow turned to bitter enmity after discovering Darrow killed his brother Julian at the Institute.
Background
Born into one of the most prestigious Gold families, Cassius was groomed for greatness from birth. He befriended Darrow at the Institute before learning Darrow had killed his twin brother Julian in the Passage. This betrayal transformed Cassius from friend to implacable enemy. Darrow severed his sword arm in their duel at the Gala, and Cassius became the Sovereign's Morning Knight. Captured by the Howlers in Morning Star, he was turned — helping Darrow take the Sovereign's bunker before leaving the war in self-imposed exile.
Personality
Cassius embodies the Gold ideal—beautiful, deadly, and honorable by Society standards. He values loyalty and family above all else. His sense of honor often conflicts with the dirty realities of war and politics, making him a tragic figure caught between his principles and his desire for vengeance.
Notable Quotes
